2020’s. The demise of broadcast and cable TV
As the internet expands and improves globally, local broadcast, cable, and disk distribution infrastructure has become obsolete. Unfortunately for the traditional media providers, their decades of multibillion dollar investment in this infrastructure is now worthless. They are being forced into a painful transition to streaming. To compete with Netflix, but without Netflix’s economies of scale or years of expertise, they chose to grow by pricing their initial streaming services below their costs, resulting in billions of dollars of losses.?
