Part 4 of Pair-O-Chutes Build (Supplemental)
As I mentioned in my last update, I was not entirely happy with the colors of these panels, so I wanted to redo them to match closer to they looked like in 1967. So, I had to start over again. I'll kind of go over the masking process on the next few photos.
This time I started with Red for the Diamond in the center instead of the dark Blue.
Next, I added the painter's tape masks.
Then I sprayed them a Sky-Blue Color. It's a little lighter than I wanted but I think it looks good. I might update the color to a slightly darker one later on.
This time the masks go on the tops and bottoms of the panel. And they will be sprayed Ivory-Silk which is an off white. Because the picture I'm using as a reference is very saturated it's difficult to guess the correct color.
It may have originally been a very light-yellow color. But this is the final design for now. I may decide later to update the Blue to a Darker color.
Here is the test fit. I think it looks good. The lines turned out very sharp this time which is why I like to do masks in this manner.
This view is from the front or Northeast side of the tower looking towards the Southwest. The missing panel in the back is where the small Building will go. This will be what I will be working on next. I also received the pulleys for the cables and will be assembling and painting them soon. That's all for this update,
