PART 4 — The Finale : A Health Start Up — From Scratch, By 21st Century Standard.
GAME PLAN:
A New Flight of Stairs, and The Next Chapter...
EMERGENCY RESPONSE SERVICE(S)
Here I am, a few steps closer, to not just being identified as:
"The fitness trainer".
This ERS journey, 'another one', is expected to serve multiple reasonings: corporate identity, inclusivity, efficacy of treatment (esp. response time), and otherwise:
- I aim to improve our proficiency and proceeding(s), both the administrative and the technicalities, as healthcare providers. i.e. medical proficiency, as provided by backroom staff, purely medical staff, care and support staff etc.
- I aim to achieve this via acquisition, initiative (training and expansion), innovative industrious structuring etc. i.e. equipment purchase, vehicular accessorising, education, training and re-training, proof of practise, value provision etc.
- I aim, also, to improve Emergency Response Time(s), by dedicating specialised treatment (and equipment) to senior citizens, kids, students, persons with disabilities and/or vulnerabilities etc.
- To do so, I plan on initiating this operation, as a private healthcare provider, as dictated by present standards, plus my innovative means, via a test phase, soon to be implemented, in Sheffield (1st) ASAP, then across the country.
- ASAP, potentially upon the fast approaching 'A return to University Life' date(s), as may be scheduled for Undergraduates and Postgraduates.
- As is with the company's culture, all operations, financing, management, and standing(s) in performance, promises to be inclusive and innovative, to say the least.
- Further information may be provided at a later date, for reasons that dictate that I may only share limited information on what is still an upcoming venture.
A FOOD DRIVE -- [A New Old Chapter]
Prior to a push forward, and as we take a deeper plunge together -- to go higher, I consider it ideal, necessary, to discuss -- in summary -- what I have referred to as a 'failing' in my previous post (not article).
An unusual situation where breakthroughs, as already defined, combines with a sub-expectational performance -- in a separate 'field'.
Having termed a fulfilment of responsibility as subpar performance, right there is a claim I may yet further with a philosophical rationale from popular understanding.
It is my expectation that, as is often the case, there be multiple reasonings, narratives, opinions etc. All of which number an amount greater than one, as seen in most cases, upon which any conspiracy may be drawn, for what usually is an underwhelming result.
According to our business inception plan, there ought to have been an established nutrition service, a venture, side by side, that complements and supplements, any and all performance(s) of the different kinds of physical activity, by all applicable variables.
While a complete lack-of is still not the case, nonetheless, circumstances that surround said sub-expectational performance was (or is) a valuable lesson, one I believe is worth sharing.
Nutrition is 'especially' distinct, in multiple ways, so much so that I consider it, still, a right decision to call it as it is, a separate venture, one that soon easily becomes a multiplied confusing variable, for seemingly obvious reasons.
Benefits of Hindsight suggest that while I may have made that right decision, my prediction for this venture's performance was shackled from the start, as opposed to embracing the rapid growth of high potential I expected.
It's food, everyone eats, nothing could go wrong.
It is popular knowledge that physical activity and quality nutrition can either be complementary, or supplementary, and so, my furthering of those specific details will not serve expected reasoning of emphasis.
All people that enter into a business venture, as a proprietorship or partnership, wish or expect a successful outcome. In my partnership, as was the case -- for a time, an unconventional situation quickly came up.
I thought it was unconventional at the time and I still, vehemently, think as much.
Few months in, I started sensing haggling, or the consequence thereof, for and of percentage of ownership; discreetly at first, and then openly -- eventually.
Why was it unconventional?
Haggling over ownership of a start-up finding its feet makes it unstable and worth as little as not much, it becomes almost as worthless as a percentage ownership of nothing, created for the purpose of nothing.
I had to participate in several discussions (failed negotiations), where I was threatened by "Since I own Y%, I am only going to do Y% of the much-needed work".
Greed and deceit.
How could such an argument be confidently made?, while negating the fact, delicate yet factual -- as it is, that all those preview to the prior 'gentlemanly' agreement, as it stood at the time, had received his/her 100% UoS endorsement, and the consequential residence permit -- for the UK, by a direct result of the aforementioned agreement.
Flabbergasted as I was, I spent months trying to explain what has been spelt out above; that percentage ownership was never the same as stock unit owned, that their argument amounts to nothing but bad faith as a negotiation tactic, and so: on.
All hell broke loose in the end, [as any experienced could have predicted] despite months of painstaking backbreaking preparation, discussions, research, strategy meetings, fact-finding etc.
At the end, I lost one (and half) of two business partners, when one up and left, along with all forms of privilege provided, or as provisioned.
The last I heard of one, was an intention to start a new venture, within the same food industry.
I am livid, I was livid...
My opinion: her incessant Y% effort (work ethic) is to be the greatest disservice she could have done to us all, but most importantly, herself. Not because of an inability or inaptitude, but for cravings I am at a loss to explain, or to even try.
Growth and potential are both time based, and value-based. And as the nature of things predicts, Time waits for no Man, Woman, nor Babe. And yet value, on its own, will stay subjective.
I expect, without malicious intent, that life and her related activities, expectations, demands etc. may ever soon arrive, for all, and in so doing regurgitate a distasteful lack of efficiency exhibited, a consequence of ONE certain ploy.
The ploy: "I own Y% and will only do Y% of the work".
For which further potential, and possibility of effectiveness, may yet still drop, or may have already, by a means of 'depression' and any further mental illnesses, as has become highly popularised, recently, through stress filled lives, personal and professional, and associated recorded events. A phenomenon that inspires me to feel this as no isolated event, but a speck of what yet remains unseen, in a greater earthly 'cosmos'.
Moral or Immoral Output:
- Unstable relationships could be worth less than Christmas relations at Easter parties.
- Successful start-ups have minimal room for less than an inkling of mistrust.
- Never walk alone but you may well feel free to stand alone, for which you must be correct, or else...
And so,
- I am set back, for a time, by an immeasurable amount.
- I was handicapped, yet shackled to ideas (and suggestions) provided freely, with little or no credit, or feedback.
- I am unyielding, as to the quality of private and personal information that may have been carted away.
- An NDA was signed somewhere along the line of that relationship, and for what that might be worth, which may yet turn out to be a false signature, I find some decent 'affordable' refuge in her limited protection, provided to me and my legal affairs, as may yet to-be deemed plausible.
A SOCIAL ENTERPRISE [SE]
In the first few months -- upon arrival, I found a new business structure, as titled, that required a re-investment of 50% profit, into a social cause. It's relatively new, still in the works, as regards public awareness, operations, and an immersion into the corporate world.
I have a few related activities, or ventures, in the works that naturally fit this bill, it is however beyond the scope of the present discussion, and so, I may only highlight one example...
Many women in Nigeria, presently, lose their lives during childbirth, for a plethora of reasons, unsatisfactorily, if I might add.
A SE initiative involves tackling this issue, and the surrounding social anxieties, by means of an appropriate SE venture, which will not be classed as charity, aid, or a missionary outreach, as is widely popular.
A sustainable SE, I believe, is a much needed key to alleviate what should be of the past century, as is the case in many modern societies.
STORAGE [products for sale]
I have also spent a few months reviewing applicable products for sale, at a mark-up, for which I have found a few that qualify.
My aim is to do so, either through a working relationship, as the means to create a revenue stream for manufacturers.
Or doing so via corporate lines of credit, as may be provided upon suited meetings, once access is granted -- after present COVID restrictions are lifted.
