Part 3- What Does Your Career Life Do For You?

I believe you all know that I made a switch to Food & Beverage/Hospitality with my nearly 3 years at Topgolf Houston-Katy. I decided to make a switch to F&B knowing that food is an industry staple. It certainly helped that TG was a short commute...just a song and a half and I was there and I had an offer to run a team that was dedicated to growing revenue with Platinum membership sales, driving repeat client business and increasing PPAs. By this time, I've had many years and career viewpoints from a plethora of angles, and I was super excited to mentor a team of young professionals. We did amazing well the 1st year growing memberships and retaining key clients. 2nd year sales exploded with us adding more memberships per Corporate accounts and taking charge with family fun pass sales - we did over 500 individual sales in a little over just 2 months. That was super fun- every moment of the day was devoted to approaching each family that entered TG, with me stepping in to complete bay stops on floors that the team hadn't gotten to. It was a true divide and conquer effort, AND a team effort since the bay hosts lined up sales for the team to close, and I drove the message in each pre-shift as a manager of the team. We got rewarded handsomely too, with a $500 spend for a team adventure along with the Director of Operations and Director of Sales taking us to an upscale steak dinner after our excursions. We ended up grabbing enough of those summer sales and Platinum VIP memberships to make #2 in the nation and a MVP award for yours truly! I started Zoom calls with the Spring and Webster location way before Zoom was widely-known, mentoring other Platinum sales managers, and we had a blast too. This lead to another amazing 3rd year, with rolling out the VIP experience at our location and having more team associates to help with the new program.

Then a recruiter found me on LinkedIn with a career advancement offer at Fogo de Chao Houston. I've worked and lived The Galleria area, and even had my hubby officially propose to me at that location; it was like going back home in a way. Immediately I made friends with repeat guests, and connected with head servers each shift to get more leads. Chris was top-notch, whom has been with the company nearly 2 decades and with a roster of fans willing to book events. And rolled right into booking holiday group dining sales, along with outreach to grab more than the calls that came through, helped end the year with over $1 million in group dining sales! The team was great about taking care of events, and I had hand-selected event servers that could handle high-priority Corporate events. Q1 2020 was a little slower start, but still had repeat bookings each month with community partners I stayed in contact with, then I found myself working from home mid-March to May 20th in the mornings to late afternoon with training, social media and guest outreach, then going to the store to run FOH until 9 p.m. (customer service, all phone calls, selling all to-go orders, wiping everything down every 2 minutes ha!, curbside and home deliveries, calling out orders to the kitchen, helping prepare orders, planting seeds for large event sales, etc. as we all experienced wearing many hats). Those days were long but much appreciated to keep me working and connecting with the community in a positive way. And my daughter even got to work with me on Mom's Day! Q3 2020 I started beating 2019 numbers and consistently stayed in front of guests to bring more business in, and had events booked all the way until August 2021.

Now I'm ready for the next best opportunity. If you sa my other recent article about Life Philosophy, you will see the I believe one of the most important reasons we are here is to make a positive impact on each others' lives. Who would you say is a positive influence in your life, how has it changed your actions? And last but not least, what has your career done for YOU?
