Part 3: Mind the Bubble

Part 3: Mind the Bubble

So two weeks after my last post (I thought you all needed a break from me), it is definitely time to subject you all to more ramblings on the Covid-19 crisis that really has become our normality.

What has changed in the last 2 weeks is that we are now allowed to do things, well some things and within reason and with the use of common sense. Although what has become increasingly clear is that I’m now not quite sure if we have any common sense?

Look, I’m certainly not complaining about the relaxation of a few things. Last Thursday I was able to tee up a golf ball and stride down a fairway as I if I was the king of the golf club for the first time in months. Don’t worry, I was so excited that I proceeded to lose said golf ball and I was put right back in my box. But it does now seem as though we are all unable to take any kind of responsibility or ownership about this crisis. I feel like Boris needs to come up with a plan for the 68million of us, give us a firm directive and we can then all be happy.

I continue to watch and read a lot of news, wow, we really are a brutal bunch. On social media I see a lot about being kinder and then on the next hand we’re lynching someone because they ran past us. I don’t know about you but the road rage that once existed when we drove our cars now lives in a 2metre virtual bubble around us all. At some point I have a feeling we are all going to need to start “Zorbing”. I can see it now, ban electric scooters and start with the Zorb, the human hamster wheel that means no one can touch us and we also get some exercise at the same time. In fact, if they are smart enough they might even incorporate a shopping bag in the Zorb so we can head down to Tesco’s safe in the knowledge that no one will get near us. Come on Boris, next time I see you heading to parliament it needs to be in a big hamster wheel, you could even challenge Keir to a race.

So what am I trying to say in amongst this long rant? Mainly that we could all just be a lot kinder, and that includes all of you lot in politics and the media. As my mum used to say, ‘if you haven’t got anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all!’
