Part 2: Women's History Month

Part 2: Women's History Month

Our series continues! To celebrate Women’s History Month, we asked members of Modivcare’s Female Empowerment Employee Resource Group to share their thoughts on leading other women, who inspires them, career advice, and more.

Laura Watkins, Account Manager

1.?What are the things you are doing to empower other women?

The most important things are encouragement and recognition. It's important to encourage everyone to keep learning, growing, trying new things, and taking big leaps. It’s equally critical to recognize successes and let people know you see them.

2.?Why do we need more women in leadership?

Women in leadership roles serve as role models for future generations. They inspire young women and girls to pursue their ambitions.

Leandra Hines, Client Consultant

1.?Describe your leadership style.

My leadership style is being a good listener and collaborator. I value others' input and feedback to ensure I’m available to support and empower my team members. My goal is for everyone to reach their full potential and goals.

2.?What advice do you have for aspiring leaders who want to be in leadership positions?

My advice for aspiring leaders who want to be in leadership positions is to be your authentic self. Be confident in your abilities, and open to learning new skills and growing. Never be afraid to speak up and advocate for yourself and others.

Amy Seiders, Vice President, Strategic Clinical Operations

1.?What qualities make a great leader?

Great leaders demonstrate self-awareness, authenticity, and humility. They focus on building relationships while driving efforts forward to promote execution.

2.?Describe your leadership style.

My goal is to drive our strategy forward while getting out of my team's way. Everyone's strengths should have space to play, to elevate the success of our team.

Kristin Abraham, Director of Product and Provider Support

1.?What are the things you are doing to empower other women?

I strive to create a safe space for women to voice their ideas and feel included. Modivcare has been great in providing opportunities to my team members looking to continue their education and develop skill sets.

2. What advice do you have for aspiring leaders who want to be in leadership positions?

Trust your instincts, never give up, keep learning and perfect your craft. Find a role model or two. Also, don't be afraid to take appropriate risks.

Bobbi McCullough, Vice President of Customer Success

1.?Who is the most influential woman you know?

My grandmother was the most influential woman in my life. She served as a school nurse in her community for more than 20 years. I watched her mentor other nurses as the head nurse for her?district. She served her community well, all while taking great care of her family. She was the true definition of servant leadership.

2.?What qualities make a great leader?

In my perspective, an exceptional leader is characterized by the ability to uphold a clear vision while concurrently having a well-defined plan. They possess the discernment to adapt plans, when necessary, all the while empowering and inspiring others.
