Now that we’ve identified the red flags, let's talk about the qualities you should look for in a coach:
1. Proven Track Record Across Different Industries
A great business coach will have a diverse background with experience in different fields. They’ve navigated different challenges and understand that every business is unique. I’ve personally sold five businesses in various industries, from e-commerce to property rentals. This variety allows me to provide a more well-rounded perspective and tailored advice for my clients.
2. Willingness to Test and Adapt
Beware of coaches who rely solely on personal opinions. A good coach knows that success isn’t based on guesswork; it’s based on data, testing, and adapting strategies. For example, I recently worked with a fitness client who wanted to change her ad strategy. Instead of jumping to conclusions, we tested several approaches to see what resonated best with her target audience.
?? Action Step: Ask your potential coach about their experience across different industries and how they handle testing and adapting strategies.
Until next time, keep marketing yourself, and remember, you deserve a business that works for you—not the other way around!
