4) PRACTICE WITH QUALITY
High quality training is important. Not only on the technical skills but also on the "power skills"in the sport world also known as “Soft skills” in the corporate world:
1) Compress as much information into each session. Feedback is the rocket fuel that propels learning and without it, no amount of practice gets you there.
2) World class performers always stretch themselves. They make mistakes, learnfrom them and never give in. They are comfortable being uncomfortable. Research shows that it is only by working on what you can’t do that you become the expert you want to be.
3) The quality of feedback and how quickly it is received and acted upon is the third key to success. Meticulous planning, specific training and quality feedback are vital to succeed. It is also important that effort is praised every step of the way, not only the achievement. That’s why if you fail to plan, your plan will fail. Hard work always pays off.
5) RECOVER TO WIN
Hard work alone will not produce your best results. Failure to recover from your working day can lead to excessive fatigue, poor performance, lack of motivation, illness and possibly burnout. Learning how to listen to your body and implement recovery strategies is as important as learning how to train. Recovery techniques include: Quality & amount of sleep, Power nutrition, Social contacts and relaxation that helps you to disconnect and recharge correctly your brain.
6) SURROUND YOURSELF WITH THE RIGHT PEOPLE
Choosing your team is crucial if you want to succeed. Within your professional & private environment, which person can help you to be stimulated? For my part, I always try to surround myself with positive people and avoid the one pumping my energy. As Albert Einstein says: Negative people will always come with a problem for each solution. Positive people are not there to please you but to stimulate you to grow. They can give you positive & constructive feedback. Do you have a sparring partner within your team, your company or outside your business like that? If this is not the case, that can be your next priority!
Remember: The difference between ordinary and Extraordinary is that little extra
