Part 2 - Review the ways of Working
Re-instate the Confidence ~ Make things visible
- Come out with a communication for display on the company's website informing about the well-being of all the employees on board;
- Make a mention in this announcement that the management is in touch with the employees / clients / vendors / service providers & other partners in progress;
- Status of the projects / orders etc are in tact and are being prioritized as per the deliverable time lines;
- If required, post videos of short duration (not more than 60 seconds each) of the various stake holders (above categories) to reinstate the faith in the strength of looking forward to bounce back and quickly ramp-up the efforts to head on the challenge of shattered timelines;
- Make an add-on announcement along with the above message that the management team is working on the plan of "welcoming back the team";
- Send an SMS, whatsapp, emails etc. to each team members. Also make tweets, FBuz, Linked Connect about this announcements;
- At the end.....invite them to keep watching the respective web spaces for more updates.
What Next to Next is what (Let us shatter the earlier routine) - The New Normal
- Review the status of various projects (as is & as left basis);
- List out the various roles that are put on "Remote Working / Work from home FOR THE FIRST TIME";
- Review the status of success of such "FIRST TIME Remote Working" - function wise / role wise (or) as deemed fit for your line of activity (varies from industry to industry)
- Impact study of such "Remote Working"........ensure if the difference is significant (or) insignificant - categorize them as SUCCESS, SEEN PROGRESS, NO PROGRESS (as good as not successful...means definitely needs to be there in office).
You may come out with your comparative scale (what I mentioned here is only INDICATIVE).
The above exercise is important to re-define our FUTURE WAYS of working. It also quantifies the measure of success of such remote working of certain roles which we felt couldn't be managed remotely earlier.
