Part 1: Stuck at the Intersection of Success and Purpose

Part 1: Stuck at the Intersection of Success and Purpose

Meet Camille

Camille is a high-performing HR executive celebrated for her results-driven leadership. On paper, her career has sparkled: awards, promotions, and a reputation for solving complex organizational challenges. But in her quiet moments, Camille felt disconnected from the very purpose that had once driven her to this work.

Her leadership journey had hit a bump. Camille longed to do more than meet KPIs—she wanted to develop people, empower voices, and create a lasting legacy. Yet, that ambitious vision she once had seemed to be moving further and further away from sight.

During a coaching session, Camille is introduced to a goal setting strategy called PACT: purposeful, actionable, continuous, and trackable created by Anne-Laure Le Cunff. With its emphasis on purpose and focus on continuous and trackable actions, something was ignited for the first time in a long time. Unlike the traditional outcome-focused goals she had set many times before, this approach emphasized progress over perfection.

The concept intrigued her. PACT aligned with something Camille believed but had forgotten: Leadership isn’t just about outcomes—it’s about actions that inspire change and growth.

Her first PACT goal? Design a mentoring program that would uplift emerging leaders in her organization within six months. This wasn’t just another work task; it was a chance to realign her leadership with her values.

Camille didn’t know it yet, but this moment would change how she approached her work—and herself.

(Next week: How did Camille break free from the over-planning paralysis trap?)
