Part 1: Avoid these Sales Mistakes if you want to at least double or triple your sales in 2024


This is Part 1 of my New Newsletter Series which I'm writing as a guide for Consultants, Specialists, Business Owners to Get 5-10x Sales in 2024 by Building a Omnipresent : Sales and Marketing system.

Whatever that's happening, shifting in the market, you need this to ensure your business doesn't get drowned by tons of noises online.

These 3 top mistakes are what I always see my new clients do.. if you're in the service-based business space especially, read this and make sure you don't do it in your business.

Mistake no. 1: Not having a Sales and Marketing System in Place:

and no, having a complete and robust system doesn't just mean Lead generation ... Understanding your customer journey would help you to identify your business's unique customer journey. Your goal is to increase the touch points in their journey, to increase LTV and reduce customer acquisition cost as much as possible but to do that you need a robust Sales and Marketing System. Otherwise, it'll feel like a battlefield everyday and not optimised for long term growth.

Too many businesses are too short term focused. They only start to worry when sales start to dip.

But you can avoid this trap but starting to build for the long term.

Mistake no. 2: Shining Object Syndrome and getting distracted.

Again, by focusing on building on the long term. As much as you can hire someone or an agency to run it for you, but you as the business owner needs to at least know what exactly is a sales process, sales development system and know how your business's sales and marketing system actually work.

Otherwise, you'll always be under control/mercy of the agency's/shining objects (think: AI, Automation, Reels, Organic vs Paid, etc) or someone else you hire.

Knowing the role of a Sales and Marketing system let you have full control and know when things are misaligned or sub-optimised.

You are also building it for the long run instead of a short term problem - like sales, not enough good clients, etc.

If you want to build your business that can last for decades and even 100 years, you need a robust Sales and Marketing system, so that whatever that's happening in the market - you like a Ship Captain, know exactly how to maneuver - which part to adjust/ optimise...

Mistake no. 3: Not knowing your Unique Selling Proposition and why your customers buy from you - and not banging on about it

A lot of time as I onboard new clients, many do not know how they stand out differently or why their existing customers/clients buy from them. In fact, they think more is good so keep saying different points so much so that their MAIN point got diluted.


1st, it shows that you're ignorant - as to why your customers buy, why you're unique and how you can explain when people ask - "why should I buy from you?"

As a business owner, you need to know how to sell yourself, your own brand well.

(Even if you're not a business owner, you could be financial advisor, a consultant, a real estate agent/consultant - you need to be able to identify how you're different).

These can be done through - proactively collect testimonials, case studies as well as conducting survey with your past clients, existing clients and even those who "got away" - didn't choose you.

By knowing where you stand, you can then proactively optimise your positioning - why? because targeting everyone = targeting no one.

We all need to start with ONE niche first then expand...and we need to know who we serve best. So that it'll be easier to come up with effective targeting, positioning and marketing message - TLDR, so marketing can do a better job at helping to get more sales.

Bonus: Mistake 4:

Not creating digital assets for your company - case studies, lead magnet, guidebooks, etc something of value that you can GIVE and use to nurture leads.

Set aside time to also ensure your content is actually giving values instead of just "selling".

People remember your company/business when they got values from them/ interacting with your business.

There is no better time to optimise and actually build a robust, effective sales & marketing system and processes, together with the help of AI and automation for your business so you can actually REALISTICALLY (instead of hoping/guessing) reach your double, triple, quadruple your sales goals.
