ParleIoT – Say More with Less Data!

ParleIoT is our state-of-the-art lossless data compression solution designed explicitly for wireless IoT devices.

Background

Aimed at mitigating challenges encountered by operators of telemetry-generating systems, our technology is especially good at tackling issues related to excessive battery power consumption and expensive deployments in remote areas reliant on satellite links.

Our innovative solution significantly reduces operational costs and extends the battery life of wireless IoT devices, providing a sustainable and cost-effective alternative. Additionally, ParleIoT enhances data return from remote areas, addressing the bandwidth limitations of satellite network coverage. The seamless integration into existing infrastructure ensures ease of implementation, while the resulting financial savings are predictable and substantial for operators.

Prepare

The compressor expects inputs as a list of (many, many) equal-length data packets. Think of a single dataset as a snapshot of telemetry data that your device generates at regular intervals. The dataset must fulfil these requirements:

  1. It must be provided as a hex string containing the encoded values, e.g. "02af21c4d3".
  2. All data must have the same length.
  3. The data encoded in the dataset shall always be placed at the same locations within the dataset. Only this way can the compressor be efficient.
  4. Data points shall be separated by the newline character ('\n').

If you are just interested in our solution and do not have a data set, we have added the “Test with dummy data” button to develop a small dataset that will allow you to start effortlessly.

If you want to provide data in a different format (e.g. binary), let us know! There is currently a limit to the amount of data you can load simultaneously. If you need to process more data, please get in touch with us.

Visualise

After loading your data set, the website will automatically calculate the compression performance and display it in an interactive graph.

You also have the chance to export the graph to SVG or PNG by clicking on the three dots in the top right corner of the graph.

Tailor

Our compression solution allows you to adapt to your specific needs. We currently offer two parameters you can tune to get the most out of your data. On the right side of the page, you will find sliders for the minimum required robustness level and the tracking period. The graph will update automatically when the parameters are changed.

Tuning these values to match your data is required to get the best possible compression for your application. Please get in touch with us directly if you need help tuning these parameters or want to learn about further customisation. We will be happy to assist you.
