Parking the Plane
After much thought and reflection, I made the personal decision to step away from my position at Tampa International Airport at the beginning of December. This was not an easy choice, as I greatly enjoyed working with such a fantastic team of people. This decision was driven by the unique opportunity to prioritize my family and achieve a better life balance.
I’m incredibly fortunate to be in a position, thanks to my military pensions, to take this step and focus on what matters most, my family. Roge and I are happily staying in Tampa Bay, and I’m excited about what the future holds.
As for what’s next—well, the journey is just beginning. I’m considering following in my father’s footsteps in the education field, a career path that would allow me to be present for my wife and kids while making a meaningful impact. I’m also exploring the possibility of joining a local JROTC program, a role that would connect me back to my years of service and give me the chance to guide and inspire students.
That said, my love for aviation remains strong. While my plane is “parked” for now, I’m keeping the door open to opportunities in the field. If the right role comes along—one that aligns with my family’s needs—I’ll be ready to be a strong blade in the engine of the aviation community once more.
My post-military journey has been more challenging than anticipated. While the outcomes were unexpected, I’m deeply grateful for the unwavering support of my wife, family and friends who ensure I’m not navigating this transition alone.
To my network: if you have advice, opportunities, or connections in education or JROTC I’d love to hear from you. Thank you for your support as I embark on this next chapter.
