Parking Lots Aren't Just Parking Lots
Parking lots are not just places where people park while they go in the grocery store. No indeed they are not.?They are places where old men cry, and old women bang on their steering wheels while talking to their kids on their cell phones.?Parking lots give people some anonymity from their daily environment, from the place where they publish on Facebook what they wish their life was but it isn’t. You won’t see selfies from your mother at her local shopping center. It is a special, secret place where life meets reality and real emotions kick in.?In the summer I go to parking lots to cool off, and in the winter I go to parking lots so I can turn the car heater on and warm up.?All because I can’t?afford the electric bill it would create at home, and I don’t want to bore my neighbors with old stories I have already told them in their warm or cool living rooms and around Noon in their kitchens.?Parking lots are special places and they keep getting smaller and smaller, or is it that there are more and more folks discovering the anonymity of parking lots and that’s why they are all wearing masks and trying to park six feet away from the folks next door.
