Parking, Balconies Lure Unit Buyers

Parking, Balconies Lure Unit Buyers

A national consumer research survey by realestate.com.au showed unit buyers looked for car parks (77%), balconies (66%), ducted heating-cooling (50%) and high-speed internet (49%) when buying a unit. Popular outdoor facilities included entertainment spaces (42%), landscaped gardens with barbecues (26%) and a swimming pool (23%).

Nationally, two bedroom and two bathroom properties scored the most searches. REA Group chief economist Nerida Conisbee said: “We know 50% of new apartments are purchased by investors and they give a lot of consideration to what kind of apartment is easily leased. “I think that two-bedroom popularity reflects the kind of stock that is really easy to lease.”
