Uzbekistan, a country with a rich cultural heritage and a burgeoning digital landscape, is making significant strides in the realm of information technology. At the forefront of this transformation is IT Park Uzbekistan, a hub of innovation and entrepreneurship that is redefining the nation's technological landscape.
Recently, at the Tashkent International Investment Forum, a special session titled "IT Park Uzbekistan: New Horizons of Development" shed light on the remarkable progress and promising future of Uzbekistan's IT sector. Over 200 participants took part in the event. The session, inaugurated by the Minister of Digital Technologies, Sherzod Shermatov, showcased Uzbekistan's achievements in information technology, emphasizing its attractiveness for investments and the array of advantages offered by IT Park for its residents.
During the session, Farkhod Ibragimov, the CEO of IT Park, highlighted the opportunities available for IT companies and unveiled insights into the transformative Enterprise Uzbekistan project. With a growing number of IT companies in the regions and a steadfast commitment to fostering innovation and collaboration, IT Park is paving the way for a dynamic and inclusive digital ecosystem.
With over 1954 resident companies, including 666 export-oriented enterprises, IT Park has emerged as a thriving ecosystem for technological innovation and economic growth. In 2023 alone, the volume of exported IT services soared to $344 million USD, underscoring the sector's robust contribution to the country's economy. Moreover, with 13,073 jobs created within the IT-es sector, IT Park is playing a pivotal role in driving employment opportunities and fostering talent development.

Looking ahead, Uzbekistan has set ambitious targets for its digital transformation journey. Aligned with the strategy "Uzbekistan - 2030," the country aims to become a regional IT hub and increase the volume of IT service and software exports to $5 billion USD by 2030. The strategy also prioritizes the development of human capital, with plans to train over 300,000 highly skilled IT professionals. Furthermore, with a target of reaching $1 billion USD in IT exports by the end of 2024, Uzbekistan is poised to elevate its position in the global digital arena.?
Within the framework of the International Investment Forum, a significant milestone was achieved as a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between IT Park Uzbekistan and Karam Global Investments Holding Abu Dhabi. The MoU aims to enhance cooperation in the field of IT and Outsourcing for Digital Transformation (DX).
The MoU aims to attract investments, collaborate on IT, outsourcing, and AI projects, facilitate the entry of companies into Uzbekistan, organize joint events, and support mutual projects. It highlights the commitment of both parties to foster innovation, drive economic growth, and create new opportunities. Through collaboration, IT Park Uzbekistan and Karam Global Investments Holding Abu Dhabi aim to catalyze the development of the IT and outsourcing sector, contributing to Uzbekistan's digital transformation and economic prosperity.
