IT Park and Toyota Tsusho Discuss Prospects of Operations in Uzbekistan

A delegation from IT Park, led by Global Marketing and Communications Director Jamila Khalibaeva, held a meeting with representatives of Toyota Tsusho Corporation, led by Eiji Yatabe, Head of Digital Division. The discussion centered on plans for the establishment of Toyota Tsusho’s office in Uzbekistan, slated for opening by April 2025.

Toyota Tsusho Corporation, a global trading and investment company under the Toyota Group, was founded in 1948 and is headquartered in Nagoya, Japan, with a central office in Tokyo. The corporation is active across various sectors, including metallurgy, automotive, energy, infrastructure, and digital solutions, with a particular emphasis on sustainability and innovation. With a workforce of nearly 3,000 employees, Toyota Tsusho plays a pivotal role in global supply chains and is heavily involved in infrastructure and development projects, particularly in Africa.

The meeting aimed to explore establishing a regional headquarters in Uzbekistan to facilitate Toyota Tsusho's expansion into new markets from this strategic location. Already maintaining a representative office in Tashkent and a strategic IT partnership with Uztelecom, Toyota Tsusho has expressed significant interest in collaborating with Uzbekistan's local IT companies. The company highly regards the availability of English-speaking professionals in Uzbekistan, which creates significant advantages for expansion into the Caucasus and CIS regions.

Furthermore, Toyota Tsusho is considering partnerships with local IT firms to implement joint projects, offering Uzbek companies a valuable opportunity to engage in international ventures and enter the Japanese market. This partnership contributes to enhancing local companies' expertise and capabilities on the global stage, paving the way for participation in ventures with Japanese partners like NEC. Through such initiatives, Uzbek companies will gain access to advanced technologies and international expertise.

Eiji Yatabe also shared Toyota Tsusho's plans to conduct an in-depth market analysis of Central Asia to better understand the region's growth potential for further expansion.

This cooperation opens new avenues for Uzbekistan, attracting international investment, fostering economic development, and creating employment opportunities for skilled professionals. Collaboration with Toyota Tsusho will further facilitate the adoption of innovative technologies within Uzbekistan's key industries, contributing to the economic and technological progression of the region.
