Park it Right Here for National Park and Recreation Month

Need a break from the daily grind? Step outside, reconnect with nature, and spend your July celebrating National Park and Recreation Month in Irvine.

The City of Irvine boasts 22 community parks and more than 40 neighborhood parks and special facilities. Take part in our Collectible Card Challenge to explore the individual amenities of parks and facilities throughout Irvine and see how these intentionally designed spaces offer opportunities to create and celebrate community.

Ready to get started? Visit select locations to collect 16 unique cards representing the City's nationally ranked parks and facilities. You can also receive a special bonus card for riding Irvine CONNECT.

Once you collect at least eight cards, you can visit the Information Desk at Irvine City Hall beginning Monday, July 22, to receive an exclusive enamel pin.

The Bommer Canyon Preserve card is one of 17 cards in the City of Irvine's Collectible Card Challenge.

National Park and Recreation Month started in 1985 as an initiative of the National Park and Recreation Association, with the goal of raising awareness of the essential services provided by parks and recreation opportunities in communities across the country. July is also recognized at the state level by the California Park and Recreation Association as Parks Make Life Better Month.

Do you want to spend more time outdoors? Make it your career. We are hiring Community Services Leaders to provide exceptional service and innovative programs at our various parks and community facilities. Learn more at cityofirvine.org/jobs.
