Paris Olympics Boost Airbnb Searches, Regulations Loom/ New acquisitions / Scale France

The ???? US and ???? France, the largest short-term rental markets, have seen similar and spectacular growth in listings since 2021. In the US, listings grew by 25%, reaching over 1,552,000 by June 2023 ??, according to PriceLabs. However, with demand lagging, occupancy is decreasing ??.

In France, hosts are eyeing the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics ?? to boost demand, with Airbnb expecting 500,000 travelers to stay with hosts ??. The Games will be held nationwide, sparking interest in hosting, while rates could jump in 2024 ??. Yet, by 2025, France may face an oversupply and high pricing ??.
