Another motor show, more amazing new car models being unveiled; the Paris motor show kicks off on the 2nd of October, widely regarded as the second biggest motor show in the world. The biennial event brought in 1,072,697 visitors, including 10,000 journalists last time around in 2016.
The Geneva motor show in March was a real spectacle and got a lot of people excited about this year's big reveals, as well as the new future plans of the big brands, including jaw dropping concept models.
The most recent Paris motor show gifted us with the new Nissan Micra, Land Rover Discovery and Volkswagen ID Concept. Here's what to look forward to at this year's show... Bon Appétit!
BMW Z4
BMW's third generation of the Z4 has been a long time coming, with the newest version aiming to focus on dynamic ability and a much different look from the last model. A lot of people have been excited about the launch of the Z4 as a major rival to the Mercedes-Benz SLC, Audi TT and Porsche Boxster.
Renault Concept
In Renaults hometown, the French brand will be determined to steal the show and prompt a few ‘oo la la's' from the crowd. And the best way to do that? Bring a concept that looks like its fresh out of a modern sci-fi movie. This will also be a great chance for Renault to introduce an idea into what their new design will develop from. Last time around at the 2016 motor show, the Trezor concept did just that. We'd love to see more of the same.
BMW X5
Another vehicle which has already been unveiled but will make its proper showing at the Paris show is the BMW X5. It's had a bit of a bump up in dimensions compared to its predecessor and shows off a fresh new look. It's a big rival the Jaguar F-Pace, it will be interesting to see how it fairs when it hits the UK roads when compared to the celebrated success of the F-Pace.
DS 3 Crossback
DS continues to expand its fleet and its kick on the SUV market with its DS 3 Crossback. This model is expected to be a mini me version of the DS 7 model and the interesting styling of the DS X E-Tense concept has been speculated to give an idea of the overall design of the new model. It will take on the Audi Q2 and Mercedes-Benz GLA in its class, while offering much lower costs.
Mercedes-Benz A-Class Saloon
Mercedes has another big reveal up its sleeve with its European adaption of the Chinese long wheel base model it most recently unveiled at the Beijing motor show. The Mercedes A-Class Saloon rivals the Audi A3 Saloon and gained a lot of traction, with many European spectators interested to see how the slightly modified version will look at the Paris show.
BMW 3 Series
The Mercedes-Benz C-Class took Europe and the country's position as the top selling compact executive car, leaving BMW in the dust. Now BMW are aiming to take back that crown with their seventh generation of the 3 series, which should also feature an electrified version.
Mercedes-Benz AMG 135
Mercedes-AMG will launch a new entry-level model called the A35 in early 2019 with an expected starting price of around £35,000.The hot hatch will do battle with the Volkswagen Golf R with a newly developed 300bhp 2.0-litre engine and a 0-52mph of 4.5 seconds. According to the spied images of the A35, the design differences between it and its bigger brother the A45 won't be significant.
Porsche Macan
T
he Macan is Porsche's smallest SUV and has been very popular over the years since its release in 2014. Now, the latest revamp is raring and ready to hit the roads at the end of the year.
