?It is the month we see ample posts and pictures; all celebrating women, reinforcing the need for equal opportunities and more.

?To me, it is the month to recollect the power that we all have within us as women.

?It should be every woman’s right to strive forward in each of our lives without being subjected to gender prejudices. We must be able to pursue our personal and professional lives in the manner we want them to. Without being restricted to grow. It is heartening to note that there is a growing emphasis on this. Be it from organizations, governments or the societal mindset change, things have changed positively and various avenues are being created.

?Entrepreneurship to me is one such path where every woman can build her dream.

?As a woman entrepreneur, the journey has been about empowering myself and those around me. And here are my key takeaways:

?1. Women historically have handled multifaceted roles, epitomized adaptability and overcame challenges. It is well within each woman to take entrepreneurship as their path and become successful. We have ample examples to prove the same.

?2. Building our resource pool is key. We must ensure to get trained in areas where we lack expertise and have a strong support system of mentors, peers and other entrepreneurs.

?3. Staying strong on our passion and business goals keeps us going. When we are aligned on these, there will be optimal engagement and creativity that drives the venture.

?4. We need to focus on business outcomes. I believe that a thriving place is a happy place. Hence we need to build strong teams, have efficient talent within the organization, build a positive organizational culture, lead innovation and be agile to meet business demands.

?5. Challenges are a part of the journey, resilience is what will take us forward. We cannot escape business challenges. You will be faced by one or many from time to time. How we respond to it is what defines our growth. And having the foresight and being able to adapt to new changes is imperative.

?Entrepreneurship is about empowering ourselves while along the way we get to positively influence society. I believe, irrespective of our gender, it is in our hands to empower ourselves and build the lives we want. Women should not make themselves feel bogged down or underconfident. Let’s celebrate womanhood and woman entrepreneurship.
