The Parents in Your Organization Aren't OK

Welcome back to Mental Health Monday, the weekly newsletter from mental health expert Tara Rolstad that curates news and practical tips you can use to learn more about mental health and make it work for you, in your life and in your workplace.

Two quick things for this week:

1 - The parents in your organization or community are not ok. Between the stresses of parenting, finding child care, and also caregiving for parents and other family members, parents are in crisis just like their kids are. In fact, a new study from Care.com of 3000 parents found that 30% of parents have thought about either suicide or self-harm, because of the stress of caregiving.?

I am sharing my program on Meaningful Self-Care that Makes a Difference?with a local parent community tonight for exactly these reasons. Let me know if I can help your organization or community.?

2 - Another way you can help parents and caregivers? Make sure EVERY parent of a child with suicidal thinking can find my new book, What to Do Right Now When Your Child is Suicidal.?I'm? asking YOU to sign up for my launch team, to help me make sure this book can easily be found by parents that need it.?

Sound hard? Don't worry, it's super easy, and I'd LOVE for you to be a part of it. What you'll do on the book launch team:

  • Sign up HERE on the 30-second Google form
  • Read all or part of an ADVANCE COPY of the book that I'll email you
  • Commit to posting a 2-3 sentence review on Amazon, Good Reads, etc.?

SO EASY!?

So will you help? Just sign up HERE. Thank you!!!

Remember, we're in this together, and we can do this.

Tara

Unfortunately, mental health is on the decline. Not only the stress of challenges in our personal lives, but also the continual onslaught of world tragedies. It's too much to take. Self-care is no longer a luxury. We have to prioritize ourselves so that we have energy for those around us. It's not selfish; it's a necessity.
