As part of this commitment, we offer two supervision sessions within the first year of completing any of our training programmes. These sessions are designed to support you in delivering effective and impactful programmes to parents and caregivers.

Our individual supervision sessions provide you with a 50-minute face-to-face or Skype session with a Parents Plus Trainer. During these sessions, we review your practice and provide you with feedback on how to enhance your facilitation skills. We use various tools to do this, including reviewing the parent/young person goal forms and session rating forms, facilitator planning and review sheets, and video clips of your practice. We can also provide tailored feedback to help you prepare for your accreditation application. Additionally, we recommend co-facilitators organise individual supervision sessions together, especially if they are running the same group.

Parents Plus also offers group supervision and practice workshops. These workshops provide an opportunity for trained facilitators to reflect on and develop their practice, as well as share their experiences of running Parents Plus groups with others. The workshop is open to all trained facilitators in any of the Parents Plus Programmes and is particularly useful for those who are running a group, aiming to get a group off the ground, or newly trained facilitators seeking support. These workshops contribute to your supervision if you are completing the Parents Plus Accreditation process.

During the workshop, you will connect with other Parents Plus facilitators in your area and learn from each other how best to deal with challenges that may arise. You will also receive support and tips on all aspects of programme delivery, including developing your facilitation skills, recruiting parents to attend and keeping up attendance each week, and progressing in the Parents Plus accreditation process.
