Parenting: A word that could send even the dictionary into a frenzy.

Parenting is like juggling flaming torches—sometimes you're on fire, sometimes the floor is! For some parents, the challenge is the daily hustle to squeeze 28 hours out of a 24-hour day. Between office deadlines, endless calls, and the mystery stationery or snack box that comes from school; the balance feels like a myth.

For stay-at-home parents, don’t even get me started on the “You’re so lucky to be home!” comments. Lucky? It’s a full-blown operation! Between managing snack wars, screen time negotiations, and turning your home into a part-time playground, the job never stops. Stay-at-home parenting is a multi-role drama production where you're the director, producer, and lead actor, and there's no intermission.

What have I learnt?

  1. Stop the Superhero Act: Let’s quit trying to be Supermom or Superdad. It's okay if dinner is just bread & jam some nights, or if the socks don’t match (hey, it’s a trend now!). Kids need love, attention, and… sane parents.
  2. Build a Village: Remember the phrase “It takes a village to raise a child”? That’s not a cute proverb—it’s a survival strategy. Whether you're working or at home, find your village. Support from family, neighbors, or even colleagues can make the difference between "I got this!" and "I’m losing it!"
  3. Raise Leaders, Not Followers: Let’s stop telling kids to follow all the rules and instead teach them when to break a few. Creativity, curiosity, and a bit of healthy rebellion are what build innovators. And draw that fine line. (personally, the most challenging action for me)
  4. Laugh Through the Chaos: Parenthood isn’t meant to be a spotless Instagram reel. It’s loud, messy, and often hilarious. Lean into the chaos. When your toddler paints the dog or your teenager “forgets” to study, laughter is sometimes the best therapy.

Ultimately, working or not, we’re all on this wild parenting ride. The trick? Less guilt, more grace—and remember, it's okay if you're winging it.

At the end of this article, I stand GUILTY on all accounts of messing things up. After all, who said Parenting was easy?

What a refreshingly honest take on parenting! ?? It’s so true that whether you’re working full-time or managing the whirlwind at home, parenting is a full-blown juggling act that keeps you on your toes. The idea of “building a village” resonates deeply—having that support system can be the difference between thriving and just surviving. And raising leaders instead of just followers? Absolutely love that! Teaching kids to challenge the norm is how we cultivate innovation. Here’s to embracing the chaos, laughing through the mess, and remembering that winging it is sometimes the best plan. Parenting is definitely no easy feat, but you’re not alone in the beautiful chaos! ??
