Parent-Teacher Teams Build Student Success
The start of the school year is a new beginning; a new chance for each student to grow and reach his or her full potential. It’s a new beginning for parents and teachers, too, as they start to work together as a team.
Parents love their children. Teachers love the children in their classes, too. Everyone has the same interest in mind: To help every child to be successful!
The following poem illustrates the importance of parent-teacher teamwork. If you feel you can use this with your school or district in beginning of the year information or materials, please feel free to do so. Have a great opening of school!

A New Beginning by Steve Frey
The first week of school,
That bright time of year,
When parents trust teachers,
With children so dear.
And teachers thank parents
For the children they share.
They’ll help them to grow,
With kindness and care.
Parents have taught those
First lessons well.
Now teachers will strive,
To help each child excel.
Teachers and parents
Join hands and hearts.
They mold lives together,
A team from the start.

8 年The poem was delightful to read. As an RTI Coordinator, I have led several Parents' Nights in order to foster this relationship. A successful school will capitalize on this.
