Hi Paramics Discovery Users and Friends,? Welcome to the February 2024 edition of the Paramics Microsimulation Newsletter.

We have a few updates to bring you from the world of Paramics including updates on Paramics Discovery 27 development and details on?workshop and training information. Lets get to it.

OUR NEW LOGO!

You may have noticed that we have a new Paramics logo on our website / social media channels. It is just a subtle change in terms of the colours and fonts but Paramics now falls within the wider SYSTRA Digital Solutions and the new branding is in line with these products and services.

S-PARAMICS SWITCH OFF/ MODEL CONVERSION

It is now only just over one month until the end date for S-Paramics! After 31st of March 2024 all S-Paramics licences will cease to operate and access to S-Paramics models will no longer be possible.

Don't worry though, you can still take advantage of our Paramics Model Conversion service even after S-Paramics has been retired!

Our S-Paramics to Paramics Discovery model conversion service will preserve your investment and take away the pain of starting again from scratch. Many elements of an S-Paramics model map directly across to Paramics Discovery model format. How it works:

  • Send us your S-Paramics model,
  • We convert to Paramics Discovery format and send it back to you,
  • We also provide a Model Conversion Report detailing the process

Model Conversion costs start from as little as £750 + VAT.

PARAMICS DISCOVERY 27

We are almost there with Paramics Discovery 27 and are hoping to announce the formal release date shortly! We have been showcasing the key features in our Linkedin posts over the last few months but here they are below:

PT Import Tool

  • Compatible with Google Transit Feed Specification (GTFS)
  • Imports stops, routes, schedules and services for the modelled area.
  • Handles routes that leave the network area and return.
  • PT stops assigned to the closest link.
  • This feature will allow you to import large public transport datasets at the press of a button and save you lots of time in the process.
  • You can even import schedules for specific days allowing you flexibility to model an 'average' weekday or perhaps an event like a festival, concert or major sports event with increased levels of public transport.

GTFS Import Settings

Signal Sets' & Signal Import / Export.

  • Create multiple signal designs for any junction in the model
  • Choose which signal designs to use for which runs
  • Share signal designs between runs
  • Each signal design can have different staging, phasing, timings etc
  • Import and export signal information
  • Supports signal sets
  • Easily modify timings and other detail in a table format
  • Transfer signals between models.

These features provide increased flexibility in modelling a variety of signal applications across a city wide area or even at individual junction level. The functionality to mix and match signal sets, import from third party data sources and switch between scenarios and demand sets at the push of a button greatly enhances signalised junction modelling in Paramics Discovery.

Signal Scenarios and Signals Import / Export

Open Source Mapping.

  • Paramics 27 will allow the visualisation of satellite/mapping tiles and 3D buildings using standard mapping service tile handling APIs.
  • Paramics Discovery 27 is compatible with free, open source or subscription based, high quality tile servers.

Open Source Mapping

Ramps and Slips.

  • Removal of slips and ramps features in preference to lane gains and lane drops with optional behaviour toggles.
  • Improved ramp style behaviour.
  • Ramp style merge can be applied at any lane drop.
  • More control over lane change gap acceptance.
