No Paralysis Shall Dim Your Light

In a hospital bed, she sat so still
Beside her, a physician, calm and chill
Assessing her pain, seeking to heal
Dad by her side, a protective seal
She asked of this probing, so unclear
Dad gazed back, wiping a tear
“My dear princess," he gently said
“The doctor's here, to ease your dread"
With tearful eyes, she sought the truth
No words to speak, just silent youth
Then the truth poured out in cries
“Dad, I'm paralyzed," she realized
Dad rushed to her side, love so strong
Embracing her, where she belonged
"My darling," he softly spoke
"You are not weak, this is no joke
In my eyes, you shine so bright
No paralysis dims your light
God has blessed me with your grace
More than I could ever trace
Your smile, my eternal joy
My love for you, no one can destroy
You’ll always be my precious one
Forever my cherished daughter, my sun"
