Inspiring Success - Apprenticeships to develop the talent of tomorrow
Welcome to your August issue of the Paragon Skills ‘Employer Pulse’, your monthly newsletter containing the latest news and updates from the apprenticeship sector, helping you to put training at the heart of your business.
We are absolutely over the moon to be able to share the fantastic news that Paragon Skills was rated the Number 1 training provider by learners at the recent Rate My Apprenticeship Awards. This is testament to the quality of the apprenticeships and learner experience we offer. We also share information on renewed calls for apprenticeship incentive payments to return, recent funding updates by the ESFA, recruitment challenges, and our prize draw winner, as well as an update on levy transfer funding from our employer partner, Aldermore Bank.
Friday 2nd September saw the launch of the Paragon Skills new website, which has been designed with a mobile-first strategy, so our learners and employers will have access to all our training information in the palm of their hand. In short, Paragon Skills has created a new destination to help shape our offering to learners and employers.
Learners will be able to see our apprenticeship programmes alongside any live vacancies and easily access information about all of our available training. The site has a refreshed and simplified look, combined with enhanced content, and improved navigation. It allows learners and employers to better interact with us online.
The new website contains information on all our apprenticeship routes, as well as being a hub of practical resources, advice and inspiration. The latest thinking, best ideas, opinions, interviews and case studies, drawn from across our training world. All in one place, easy to find, easy to navigate and easy to share.
RateMyApprenticeship hosted their virtual Awards Ceremony on the 20th July, where they announced their Top 50 Training Providers for 2022 voted on by learners. It was a nail-biting and exciting experience to watch the awards unfold and to hear the winners being announced. Paragon Skills is delighted to not only be shortlisted in the Top 50, but to be ranked in first place on the RateMyApprenticeship Top 50 Training Providers list which is completely decided on by the feedback from learners.
Aldermore Bank has gifted approximately £60,000 in unspent levy funding to support apprenticeship training to Sandcastle Care, a residential childcare provider. Redistributing unspent levy funding by investing in a local childcare business, covering their training costs, supporting growth, and boosting the local economy in the region demonstrates the bank’s commitment to corporate social responsibility and determination to give back to their community, supporting those businesses who are most needed locally, and have been hit the hardest by the pandemic.
Paragon Skills attended the UK Care Week exhibition in July, and as part of our stand engagement we had a ‘Wheel of Fortune’ where you could spin to win prizes! We had a ‘Golden ticket’ where each person who landed on this was entered into a prize draw to win a fabulous hamper.
We are pleased to announce that our winner is Georgina Pennington from Home Instead Leigh, who took home a Selfridges Hamper filled with some of their iconic treats.

The ESFA has announced some key changes to apprenticeship funding rules for the 2022/2023 intake year which have been designed to make the process simpler. The 2022 to 2023 funding rules will apply to apprenticeships starting between 1 August 2022 and 31 July 2023. The ESFA has announced that the minimum 20% off-the-job training rule will change to a flat baseline requirement of six hours per week from 1 August 2022. It will no longer be linked to working hours and the idea is that it will be fairer and simpler to understand. For more information on this you can view the?Gov.UK site by following the link below.
