  1. Short week, so an obligatory "Happy New Year" to you all.
  2. Over two hours with my leadership coach?– a useful first session that was challenging and provided lots of structure and ideas. Thank you, Simon Grayson .
  3. Thought a lot about managing paradoxes in business, such as opposing objectives and priorities.
  4. Lots of writing personal development plans?– I like the structure and having, or rather, taking the time to do it.
  5. Great session company on carbon reporting and net zero strategy?– will write outline proposal next.
  6. Four hours of (internal) strategy session?– gained much clarity on the paradoxes my leader is trying to manage, how they are different from the paradoxes I am trying to manage within my area, while I hopefully provided some value, structure, and ideas.
  7. Good sharing and brainstorming ideas around proposition development and go-to-market tactics with team.
  8. Helping team members with their personal development plans.
  9. Over two hours sharing across the firm some of the interesting technology developments we do.

Hat tip to Matt Ballantine for showing me the value of weeknotes.

Interesting business reading this week: “Both/And” Leadership, Harvard Business Review, May 2016. #StrategicParadoxes I particularly liked the categories of innovation paradoxes (new versus tried) versus obligation paradoxes (different demands from different groups).

Interesting tech reading this week: Python Rgonomics by Emily Riederer , December 2023. #Rstats #python For any R programmer who wants to work in python.

Until next week ??.
