Paradox

Paradox

Paradox

I was on top of the bottom

Dead Center to the side

In the springtime of autumn

and the darkness of light

So then, I followed

in front of the back

Footloose and hollow

but full, tight and slack

To the north of the south

on the east of the west

Positively negative

So sure that I guessed

So I ran straight ahead

so fast I slowed down

So alive and yet dead

as I smiled from a frown

I was quietly screaming

dried eyed, tears streaming

In the black of the white

on track or in flight

In the strength of my weakness

to passively fight

So I borrowed tomorrow

in trade for today

Then gladly in sorrow

and peaceful dismay

I discovered what I knew

to be wrong but so true

I freely pay dues

to be just like you

So then burn yourself out

and slowly grow cold

Don't hear my story

though you know its been told

Close your ears and listen

and remember to forget

What we both know we're missing

as we all calmly sweat

Be horrified, glorified

Petrified and soft

and chase yourself down

as you run for your loft

or realize and recognize

you'll grow small to be wise

For he who is too tall

is too small, to see through all - the disguise
