4 年Paul Nathan CPEng IEAust - Leadership and Management I like the question. My take is that employees below a certain management level are simply commodities. I think this is echoed in the employment practices of late where employees are engaged on fixed term contracts to fulfil a particular role on a project or organisation (almost becoming the norm here in Australia). Once the contract term has expired or the objective of the role fulfilled (whichever comes first) the ‘commodity’ is released and there is no further liability to the project. From a project perspective, this approach has the best economic outcome. From a company perspective I am not sure.
