Paradise, Love, Death, and Faith
"I believe in everything until it's disproved. So I believe in fairies, the myths, dragons. It all exists, even if it's in your mind. Who's to say that dreams and nightmares aren't as real as the here and now?"
I’m sitting on the porch of a little cabin in Evergreen, Colorado watching Bear Creek and her tiny little white caps roll by. I watched a man fly fish yesterday. It’s peaceful here, this is our new paradise. It’s a tad chilly, I’m wrapped in a ty died hoodie and my Queen is to my right sipping her coffee bundled up as well.
There are a mother and two young children about two to four years of age. I’m confident like us, they have made a few memories this weekend. We arrived Friday, checked in, met some of our best friends, ate, drank, played Euchre, and laughed our way to bed.
Yesterday our friends left, my Queen and I toured the city, looking for our new home. House hunting is fun, you play your new life film in your head as you look at the properties and think about your future existence.
We spent some time checking out the restaurants meeting some of the locals. The people here are kind, happy, and are excited that new people have found their secret society.
I got a call from one of our teammates yesterday, we were in Starbucks, he landed a big deal, on a Saturday, thought I’d want to know. Watching this young man personally and professionally grow is one of my daily highlights. I’m convinced that if you invest in people, the return on the investment is greater than any dollar amount you could glean from any other investment.
I just turned 49 years old, my life is a dream. I’m in love with the most beautiful woman on this earth. I try and be present when I’m with her, shutting out the rest of the world and simply tuning into her frequency. Never underestimate the power of looking someone in their eyes and simply saying “I love you.”
She’s too good to me, she just looked at my coffee cup, and it’s running low, she picked up my cup, is now making me another cup of black liquid magic. The father has now appeared, he’s carrying the luggage back to the car, the kids are playing with sticks, the young boy has a pacifier in his mouth. The young girl is holding a bouquet of flowers. Soon they will return home and always remember that little cabin by the creek.
I’m dying. I should probably have shared that little tidbit before, but I’ve come to realize that my time on this earth is short. Soon, my soul will move on, my legacy will be my children and the young men and women I’ve taught, coached, and helped gain wealth. I should point out that you are also dying, today you are one day closer to the end.
I don’t fear death, I’m not the first or last person that will experience the fate of the human. I’m honestly excited about what might be around the corner, the next dimension, or the next universe. I have faith, but my faith cannot be boxed into a set of rules or words. I believe, but what I believe might be unique to me.
I find it funny when other men and women try and tell people what “the way” is. No one knows the truth of what happens when we pass, I think we are all judged on the sum of our work and not the one or two good or bad things we do during our time on this earth.
Its Sunday a day of worship and for me and my Queen we are worshiping outside by a stream of water surrounded by mountains. I spoke to God this morning, She reminded me to have a great day and to not take a single breath for granted. I thanked her, she seems to be in a good mood. Come to think of it, She’s always in a good mood.
I guess there are people that think I have a mental illness when I talk to God or She talks to me. That’s fine, I understand, faith is not for everyone, but it is for me.
I hope these words resonate with you. I hope my message of paradise, love, and faith remind you of something. You know these things I share, we all do. We all have DNA coded to allow us to know the way we are to live. Simply follow your code and live the best life you can. I did, I do, and for me, it has made all the difference.

Simply beautiful. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for another great read, I always appreciate some thoughtful material to reflect on. "You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself in any direction you choose. You're on your own, and you know what you know. And you are the one who'll decide where to go." -Dr Suess
