Welcome to the age of papGPT. ??

We are all already well familiar with it, even though it's been less than two years since GPT hit the average person's laptop.

Let’s categorize a bit first…?

We have our Grandiose Introductions

  • "In the realm of"
  • "Amidst the backdrop of"
  • "Navigating the complexities of"
  • "In an era where"
  • "A paradigm shift in"


And of course the Exaggerated Claims

  • "A real game-changer"
  • "Pioneering new frontiers in"
  • "Unveiling the intricacies of"


Then there are the Journey Metaphors (so many journey metaphors!)

  • "Embarking on a journey to"
  • "Forging a path towards"
  • "Charting the course for"
  • "Navigating the complexities of"
  • "Pioneering new frontiers in"


The beloved Filler Phrases

  • "In this [article/guide/blog post]..."
  • "A [noun] of [plural noun]" (e.g. "a tapestry of cultures")
  • "Let's delve into..."
  • "Embark on a journey..."
  • "Master the art of..."
  • "Elevate your [noun]..."

And then of course, what we’ll call Buzzword Bingo

These are the phrases and choices that are quickly overwhelming the internet at large…?

Well-respected outlets like 纽约时报 , The Washington Post , Reuters , WIRED , and others are sounding alarms about the potential negative consequences of AI-generated content flooding the internet in the coming years.

Even science and academia is feeling shook. A full 1% of all scientific articles published in 2023, and up to 17.5% of recent computer science papers in particular, exhibit signs of AI writing.
