Paper Sculpture Art powerful on Paper

Regardless of the instantaneous power of the internet, articles in print win.
I invest a lot of effort on social media, like most of us, to keep as many as possible informed of who I am and what I do that's different from other people. We're social beings after all, so we all like to know what others are doing and how that might benefit our individual lives. I've also made a lot of "keyboard friends" around the world and I think it's great.
What stood out in the last couple of weeks though, is the continued power of print media in spite of the benefits of the internet. I don't believe I realised how much respect and confidence people continue to have in the printed word until I saw the responses to a couple of news articles written about my newly opened Paper Sculpture Artist Gallery and my artworks.
I have since had a significant public response, some people even saying, "Hey Ray, we've seen you in the paper. You're a star!" I laughed as I realised the difference in the way printed words are perceived versus the digital version. I never got that from Facebook posts!
Perhaps our attention is as ephemeral as electronic media are instantaneous, yet printed words endure like the paper they're printed on. Or, perhaps the power really comes from the big media behind the papers because from all the input they could write about, their editors chose your story. In that case I'm truly honoured and grateful.
In any case, I found another meaningful purpose to paper in my life. Kinda suits don't you think?
