Pantomime season at The Bridge
Pantomime season sets to continue at Chelsea.
This week, it's time for Diego Costa playing the evil villain and referee Mike Dean in the role of the idiot sidekick.
Last weekend saw the champions Chelsea take on their London rivals Arsenal, which was dubbed ‘a title decider’ (It's little early, I think).
In previous encounters, this game has pulled up it’s fair share of trouble and controversy. From Wenger and Mourinho’s touch line scuffle (push-a-thon), Chelsea’s 6-0 drubbing, Kieron Gibbs wrongful sending off, Henry’s quick free kick to Kanu’s infamous hat-trick at the Bridge. This fixture as spruced up some classic’s during the Premier League era.
This Saturday was far from a classic. It boarder lined fascial. The football was once again overshadowed by misconduct, where the FA, Mike Dean and Diego Costa have been left with egg on their face.
BBC pundit Garth Crooks normally spouts a load of old cobblers but after the match on Saturday he got it spot on. He was furious with what had taken place and launched a angry rant towards referee, Mike Dean. This was after the referee showed a red card to Arsenal player Gabriel for a series of clashes with Costa. Arsenal were later reduced to nine men after Santi Cazorla received a second caution late in the second half, which ruined the game for Arsenal and the neutrals watching.
