Pandemic Planning, Strategy, and Operations for any and every organisation and company.

Pandemic Planning, Strategy, and Operations for any and every organisation and company.

We humans react slowly and we are shortsighted in many ways including planning for events and situations that change 'the normal', that impact the familiar and comfortable such as evolving threats that have not caused widespread havoc and chaos. Work at home/remote work is leading to more attacks. https://www.techradar.com/news/remote-workers-prime-targets-for-cyber-attacks combined impact: Czech hospital hit by cyberattack while in the midst of a COVID-19 outbreak One of the Czech Republic's biggest COVID-19 testing laboratories hit by mysterious cyberattack. https://lnkd.in/ep9ZNSb accelerate and worsen by attacking infrastructure and supply chain. btw, every company large to small should have pandemic planning and action check lists and reaction checklists as well as contingency preparations for DR operations. We are seeing lag and delay with many entities with chokepoints, throttles and faulty 'relief valves' and for small and medium sized companies, this may result in catastrophic consequences as pandemic grows. we've always been struck by the similarities between biological and cyber viruses. thinking worse is to come in both arenas.

The big danger, once a pandemic plan is implemented and operationally deployed, is "monkey reflex" - the tendency for us primates to get bored, to lose focus and attention with routine where 'nothing' happens. boredom, distraction, loss of focus - watchstander issues and psychologically being at full intensity level of attention - 2 minute max even for sniper team members. Sustained behaviors and cultural change is hard to maintain for humans/modern homosaps in particular - too many distractions. ;)
