Pandemic & Its effects...

Its been heart wrenching to see how many people have lost their jobs, it didn't feel real until we had a lot of people messaging our recruiters and us if there were any opportunities.
While there is a big issue with the way the economy is doing, job loss, etc.. there is bigger news that has been doing rounds. 1/3rd nation faces mental health problems due to COVID-19. The anxiety, fear has led to a lot of mood swings and resulted in many numbers of Suicide cases as well.
While reading this news and a few posts on Linkedin, I saw a few people who commented that "it is not about Staying Positive but much more than that".
The world is going through a huge crisis. Thankfully we have not let go of people but there is always a feeling to work extra hard and to manage finance even better during such times.
Not that the thought has not occurred but the impact it would have on our employees was much more worrying, we felt that the situation was not right to let go but to sustain and manage.
All this while the business is growing at a great speed...customers who have been affected by this pandemic have either delayed payments or asked for a longer time to pay for the services.
To sustain we took a few steps to survive and also grow.
- We started doing staggered payments to employees.
- We worked 6 days a week.
- We had moved our recruiters to help us with Sales
- We started focussing much more on minimum spillage.
- We focussed on helping people deal with anxiety with constant conversations and helping them prioritise.
The worst is we don't know how soon will we get out of this pandemic and when will things and business get back to normal.
As per a few reports, it will take the economy about 5 years to get back to normal.
Looking at such news and when people write that they have been struggling financially cos they have no job for the past 3 months or more, I feel grateful that we are doing just fine.. though there are some really bad days we have stood together!
I can only be grateful for the food, salary, and the job that we have and will help people in whatever ways we can!
