Pan Fried Fillet of Cod with Pea Puree
Chris Huffen
Group Commercial Director - Executive Recruiter - Artificial Intelligence and Technology Divisional Lead
I am a foodie and I love food!
I love cooking food, I love eating food and I love discovering new food but the thing I love more than anything else is looking at the ridiculous things people come up with to describe food that is actually incredibly simple!
Be it “Pan fried fillet of cod with pea puree†(battered fish and mushy peas), “Wild berry infusion on wood fired organic sourdough†(jam on toast) or “Hand reared Gloucester Old Spot Pork encased in a butter flaked casing†(Sausage roll…), the different ways of describing food are becoming increasingly creative and sometimes, harder to decipher!
But, no matter how fancy you make it sound, the proof of the pudding is always in the eating AND in many ways, hiring the right person for your business is just like ordering the right meal at a restaurant!
You get a menu (shortlist), recommendations from your waiter (consultant) and find out about the specials (wild cards). Any seasoned diner will always take the waiters advice BUT those that don't, often end up with something they're not as happy with!
There is so much more people can get from the recruitment process if they treated each piece of recruitment like dining out at a great restaurant!
