Brand New Kemio Arsenic Sensor
Our brand new Kemio Arsenic sensors are a game changer for field testing of arsenic contamination in water. Kemio Arsenic sensors provide users with a safer testing method than other common field-testing procedures, which use toxic chemicals such as mercury bromide in the testing process. Our Kemio instrument has been designed for use in remote, hard to reach areas away from laboratory and healthcare infrastructure. The use of arsenic sensors with Palintest’s Kemio technology will enable governments, water companies, NGOs and communities to identify areas of arsenic contamination more quickly, take immediate action when harmful levels are identified, and mitigate risk.
Arsenic III and arsenic V are two different oxidation states of arsenic. In water, arsenic normally occurs in both oxidation states III and V. Therefore, a total arsenic measurement is a combination of the concentration of arsenic III and arsenic V. Measuring both arsenic III and total arsenic is important for several reasons including ensuring a comprehensive assessment of the potential health risks associated with arsenic exposure in drinking water, finding the source of arsenic contamination, evaluating treatment options and complying with regulations. Kemio arsenic sensor range includes sensors to test for both arsenic III and total arsenic which measure in the range of 2 to 250 μg/L.

International Four Day Marches Sponsorship
This month our Production Manager, Carl Maddison, took part in the Nijmegen International Marches along with a team from the Durham Army Cadet Force. Palintest sponsored this event, providing the whole team with t-shirts for the four days of marches.
We followed the team’s progress throughout the marches over on our LinkedIn account, giving daily updates provided by Carl about how the team we’re getting on. It is a grueling 4 day challenge where they walked 25 miles or over each day consecutively. The marches we’re a big success with the whole team putting in a fantastic effort. We sat down with Carl on his return to find out more about how he and the whole team got on during the event, to read our conversation with Carl, click the link below.

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Program
At Palintest, we strive to ensure DE&I is a main focus across the business. We have a dedicated DE&I team who run monthly sessions which include focus groups, media clubs and other activities on a different topic every month.
July Media Club – Menopause
This month’s DE&I activity featured special guest Sharon MacArthur also known as Miss Menopause!
Sharon held a brilliant session which was educational, informative, and lots of fun, featuring a quiz and lots of very important information which was shared in a safe, open environment. Menopause is very often overlooked in businesses and so ensuring it featured in our diversity, equity and inclusion program was extremely important. We hope to use this session as a basis to ensure we’re all more mindful about menopause and how it could be affecting the lives of people we work with, and are able to have more open conversations about menopause moving forward.
August Focus Group – Men’s Health
Our August DE&I activity will be a focus group all about men’s health. Check our monthly newsletter next month for updates on how this went!
New Starters
This month we have welcomed two new starters within our sales team, Amy Eland and Ben Smith. Amy and Ben are both Internal Sales Executives supporting our recreational and drinking and waste water sectors in particular. Welcome to Palintest Amy and Ben, and good luck in your new roles!
