According to Global Firepower Index 2021 released this week, Pakistan Army is among the world’s 10 most powerful militaries in the world leaving behind Canada, Germany and Australia.

The Global Firepower ranked the armies of 138 countries by taking into consideration a number of factors including the diversity of each country’s weapons, manpower, population, geography and state of development. The Global Firepower ranking utilizes over 55 factors to determine a country’s Power Index score. The formula allows smaller, more technologically advanced countries to compete with larger, less developed ones. A perfect PwrIndex score is 0.0000, which is realistically unattainable. The closer countries are to that number, the more powerful their military is.

As per the ranking, Pakistan has an estimated total of 1,204,000 military personnel. The United States holds first place in the ranking. Russia is second, and China is third. The top ten also includes India, Japan, South Korea, France, the United Kingdom, Brazil, and Pakistan.

Reasons why Pakistan Army is remarkably Outstanding. No doubt Pakistan army is one of the best armed forces in the world as they sacrificed much in order to protect their motherland from enemies since the creation of the country. They are currently the sixth largest army in the world due to its active military personnel. Here are four reasons why they are considered best in the world.

1. Patriotic & Disciplined. Pakistan forces are also famous for the discipline and the love they give for their country. For any army to be successful the dedication needs to come from inside. The army personnel are trained to follow strict rules and regulation. They so well trained that their discipline even reflects in their personal life as well. Pak Army soldiers are selected after undergoing trying physical, academic and medical tests. This can be judged from the fact that of the 92,000 applicants only 514 made it to the Pakistan Military Academy (PMA), Kakul for the current passing out batch. Once at the PMA they go through rigorous training which includes military training, academics and physical fitness regimes that truly test the mettle of the cadets. After two years of such tough training the officers are ready to face real action. Our soldiers are selected through Armed Forces Recruitment & Selection Centers & minimum Criterion is 100% healthy & at least matriculate. Pakistan Army wins international physical fitness and endurance competition consecutively third time. It sends largest UN contingent in all Mission abroad. Pak Army performed remarkably outstanding in Flood .Corona &Locust Control alongside elimination of terrorism from Pakistan (MA).

2-No.1 Intelligence Agency (ISI).Inter-Service Intelligence (ISI) is ranked as the number 1 spy agency in the world and it also has been named the fittest and best agency, reports American crime news. The ISI was created in 1948 after the partition of the sub-continent. It works in the shadows to nullify threats and protect Pakistan’s national interest which is one of its main objective. No doubt ISI plays major role in the withdrawal of Soviets from Afghanistan 15 February 1989 & now a days bleeding India white through sincerely establishing peace in Afghanistan & unearthing India conspiracies again and again which made Indian PM Narendra Modi life miserable?

3- Nuclear Power.Pakistan became the atomic power in May 28, 1998 and currently 7th among the nuclear power of the world. It’s the first Muslim country to obtain atomic bomb. This is the great achievement of the country as it’s a major and lethal weapon. Pakistan is ahead of India & some other Nuclear Countries in the design, technology and safety /security control of the nuclear assets.

4-Special Service Group (SSG).The Special Service Group commonly known as SSG commandoes are ranked 8th among the top Elite forces of the world. They are also known as Black Storks since these commandoes have unique headgear. In order to become a SSG, a person has to go through tough training which includes a 36-mile trek in 12 hours and a 5-mile run completed in 50 minutes, done in full gear. Pakistani Commandoes have won almost all international competitions and happen to liberate Bait-UL- Allah from the seizure of miscreants in December 1979,lead by the then Major Pervez Musharraf and later General (COAS) & President of Pakistan.

5. It’s not about money or glamour; there isn’t any. Nor can these ever be as strong a reason to join the army as the patriotism we feel. We do not look at the army service as a job or career. To Army, it’s a complete lifestyle, filled with its unique challenges and risks,” Sure enough the life of an armed forces personnel is tough and the risks are high. Why would someone willingly subject themselves to such a grueling regimen and such an uncertain fate? Apart from the love for your country, the honour and pride that you feel in a uniform cannot be compared to anything. It truly shakes people when we hear crude comments in sympathy with the militants. Step into our shoes and then you will feel our pain. Think how it feels when there is no one there to pick up the bodies of your loved ones. Nation sleeps at night because Army is awake defending the borders and all we want in return is appreciation, recognition and respect.

6. Past & Future Role of Pakistan Army. After three takeovers the Pakistan military seems to have developed some distinct mental models on which it organizes its activities and institutions. These spells into power have come to be accommodated within the military thought process as outcomes of peculiar circumstances enforced upon it.Evidence shows that as things stand, within the military perception, takeovers are not considered bids for power informed by political aspirations but [necessary] measures of the last resort to save the country. With the passage of time, especially given that 22 years have passed since the last takeover ended, the military thinking has evolved to accommodate / accept these takeovers as a necessity of the hour. The most prominent advantage of this particular line of reasoning being that is allows for the military as a savior narrative to develop.

7. Admittedly, the geo-political realities of the country are such that the civil government relies more on the military than it should. Moreover its own inability to deliver public sector services due to what can only be described as incompetence only supports the savior narrative. The net result is that the military is popular amongst the citizenry and has an indelible belief in its own indispensability .As things stand with the Pakistan military, boundaries between defense and ‘development’ have become precariously intertwined. While ‘development’ is accepted as a civilian domain, the military holds itself responsible for nation building.

8. As seen above there is no tangible difference between the two terms and are often used interchangeably. In fact at times, they are even conflated with those activities that it performs in aid of civil powers. Secure in its hegemonic status, the Pakistan military has found ways to simultaneously navigate both the civil and the military spheres while remaining within legally and theoretically prescribed boundaries. This conflation of ‘development’ and defense provides the military an avenue to perceive its hegemony not through overt displays of power, but through provision of social sector amenities. This in turn physically manifests in the form of organizations it has created in the development and commercial sector.

9. Recently Pak Armed Forces have updated Weapons, Ordinance, Main Battle. Tanks, Aircrafts. Submarines, Missile Delivery& Ground & Air Surveillance System &conducted few major exercises with international Armed Forces. We strongly hope Pak Army will keep playing a significant role in the internal stability of Pakistan & keeping regional /global peace restored(IA)
