CHAPTER 1
FADE TO BLACK:
EXT. BEVERLY BLVD. – SIDEWALK -
LOS ANGELES – DAY
The audience realizes SOUNDS
from a hand of a man that opens
the EXIT DOOR of a CAFETERIA.
From the distance, JESSE
ENDLEMORY, 53 years old, that
uses a suit. He walks to crosses
the avenue and breathes fast
with his hand on his chest.
Jesse crosses the avenue and the
cars honks at him to get out of
the way.
ACROSS BEVERLY BLVD. - SIDEWALK
Jesse tries to breathe and leans
against a tree. Jesse walks down
the sidewalk and heads towards
the Vista Hermosa Park that is
nearby.
VISTA HERMOSA PARK - PATH
Jesse walks and trips over his
legs. He tries to take the tie
off his neck, but puts his hands
on his chest again. Jesse goes
towards a park bench that is
nearby, but stumbles and falls
to the floor. Jesse remains
there for a while and manages
to get up to reach the park
bench.
PARK BENCH
Jesse reaches there with great
difficulty, sits on the park
bench and his body is slightly
crooked. Jesse smiles and now
he takes off his tie and throw
it on the floor.
VISTA HERMOSA PARK – PATH –
CONTINUES
A woman in high heels walks
towards to the same park bench
that Jesse it is. She is
DESDEMONA that is with her
SUNGLASSES. Desdemona stops
and watches around the Vista
Hermosa Park. After that, she
takes off her sunglasses and
watches the sky for a while.
PARK BENCH – DUSK - CONTINUES
Jesse is with his left hand
and his head that rests on the
park bench and we realizes that
he watches the DUSK. He wiggles,
stretches his body huggs the
park bench and dies.
THE ANGLE OPENS TO REVEAL Jesse
on the BENCH in background
(b.g.) and Desdemona that
watches him on the left in
foreground (f.g). After a while,
Desdemona TURNS to go away.
FADE IN:
INT. THE PAINTING’S HOUSE –
LIVING ROOM - NEW YORK - DAY
From the EXTREME CLOSE UP in
THE PAINTING that is on the wall,
The Angle Opens gradually to
shows The Painting. We observes
for a LONG TIME all details of a
PARK BENCH without anyone,
office buildings in (b.g.) and
the dusk.
EXT. STREET OF THE PAINTING’S
HOUSE – SIDEWALK - DAY
A woman walks toward the door
entrance of a house. It’s
OLIVIA HOWLYELL, 49 years old.
OLIVIA’S HOUSE – DOOR ENTRANCE
Olivia TURNS to open her door
house and watches a pickup
truck that parks across the
street next to The Painting’s
House.
THE PAINTING’S HOUSE - SIDEWALK
SOPHIA SPARRSON, 43 years old,
gets out of the pickup truck and
waves at Olivia that ENTERS your
house. SAM SPARRSON, 45 years old,
gets out of the pickup truck and
takes a box. Sophia takes another
box and they walks toward the door
entrance of the Painting’s House.
THE PAINTING’S HOUSE –
DOOR ENTRANCE
Sophia puts the key on the lock
and opens the door.
INT. THE PAINTING’S HOUSE –
LIVING ROOM - DAY
The SUN comes through the door
and lights The Painting on the
wall. Sophia puts the box on the
couch and watches The Painting.
Sam comes in, puts his box on the
floor hugs Sophia and watches The
Painting for a while too.
We can observes around and
realizes a couch and an armchair.
After that, we observes The
Painting that have (Vista Hermosa
Park and one park bench with anyone
in background (b.g.) and DUSK.
SAM
What do you think?
SOPHIA
I don’t know... Maybe
Olivia can talk about
the story of this
painting.
SAM
I forgot Artie.
DOOR ENTRANCE
Sam stops at the door and
watches the pickup truck.
POINT OF VIEW – SAM
The pickup truck is with the
doors opens and ARTIE, a male
dog, 7 years old, is inside of
the pickup truck.
SAM
Come on Artie... Come to
your new house.
Artie go to outside the pickup
truck and stops for a while.
EXT. STREET OF THE PAINTING’S
HOUSE – SIDEWALK – DAY
A woman walks. She uses HIGH HEELS,
a big SUNGLASSES and a MINI-SKIRT.
It’s Desdemona. She comes and walks
next to Artie that scares of her
and go back to the pickup truck.
Sam comes and gets Artie from the
pickup truck and watches Desdemona
that walks. Sophia comes too and
watches Sam that continues stare
Desdemona.
SOPHIA
Who’s that pretty woman?
Sam turns to Sophia.
SAM
I don’t know.
SOPHIA
Why were you looking
at her?
Sophia watches Desdemona
go away.
SAM
I don’t know.
SOPHIA
Let's go in then, we
have a lot of things
to arrange.
INT. THE PAINTING’S HOUSE –
LIVING ROOM – CONTINUES – DAY
Artie smells the corners and ups
to the couch. The Painting is
above him. Artie prepares himself
to sleep on the couch. He watches
around and closes his eyes.
KITCHEN
Sophia keeps some tableware in
the kitchen cupboard and Sam is
in the laundry room. Sophia DROPS
the cutlery on the floor.
SOPHIA
Someone really should
wash up again.
Sophia bends down and picks up
the cutlery from the floor.
LIVING ROOM
Artie wakes up, jumps off the couch
and goes towards the master bedroom.
MASTER BEDROOM
Artie walks through the door and
scares by a man lying face down on
the bed. It's Jesse Endlemory and he
is DEAD. Artie approaches Jesse and
smells his shoes. Jesse don’t move
his body.
Jesse wakes up and sits on the edge
of the bed. Jesse puts your hand over
his head and watches Artie that scares
again and runs out of the bedroom.
KITCHEN
Sophia washes the cutlery in the sink.
Sam is on the laundry room yet. Artie
runs under Sophia's legs. Sophia picks
Artie up. He shivers. Sophia strokes
Artie’s fur for a while. After that,
Sophia puts Artie on the floor, but
Artie stays near Sophia’s leg.
SOPHIA
Artie... What’s wrong
with you. Did you see
a ghost? Sam... What
did you do with Artie?
He's shivering.
SAM (O.S.)
It’s the new house.
He's thrilled.
SOPHIA
I don’t know. This is
not normal.
MASTER BEDROOM
Jesse gets up from the bed and
stretches. He watches around and
leaves the bedroom towards a
living room.
LIVING ROOM
Jesse sits on the couch and he is
with his left hand and his head that
rests on the couch. Above your head
we observes The Painting on the wall.
Jesse stays there for a while and then
gets up and heads towards the kitchen.
KITCHEN
Now Artie is under the kitchen table.
Jesse comes in and sits on the kitchen
table chair. Artie scares and runs
again under Sophia's legs. Jesse bends
down and waves at Artie who now barks
at Jesse.
SOPHIA
Artie... Stop or I'll lift
you to the vet. What do you
think?
Artie stops to bark and Sophia strokes
the Artie’s fur again.
