The pain of an unattempted dream is far worse than the fear of giving it a shot.

I wonder how many people look back and wish they would of tried harder, or perhaps even tried at all towards a dream they had. Whether it be fighting for a lost love, putting the story in your mind to paper, or going after the dream career, we all know the only thing stopping us is us. Our minds. Our fears. The endless trail of "what-ifs" that lead us backwards instead of forwards...
I was thinking about what my regrets would be on my deathbed. Am I satisfied with where I've gone and what I've done thus far? I know there are tens of millions of people who are intelligent and capable human beings that have yet to experience measurable success in their lives. They settled. I never wanted to be a settler. It's not in my blood. Am I doing enough though? No one is given a wish without the power to make it come true. Have you ever really asked yourself what your wishes are? Do you remember what you used to wish for when you blew out your canldes on your birthday?
All I know is that I'm not getting any younger. The time to take risks and get what I want out of life seems to be NOW. I'd rather look back on my experiences on this earth knowing that I gave it my all and did everything I could to accomplish my dreams without the fear of failure getting in my way. I don't want the ache of regret filling my soul at the end of this journey. I want the pride of capturing my dreams instead. I am no settler, I AM a dream fetcher.

5 年Kind of confused by the title of this post. To me, an unaccomplished dream means that you at least gave your dream a shot, but failed. I would much rather go after my dream and fail then never give it a shot. So I think the greater pain is when you decide to never give your dream a shot, over the pain of not accomplishing your dream that you actually attempted to achieve.
