Pain and suffering? Why do we suffer? Why do some people in extreme pain not suffer? What thought patterns account for suffering? What emotional habits are involved in suffering? What approaches work to reduce suffering? What is the difference in those approaches (if any)? Why do some clients gravitate towards one therapist in preference to another?

Dr Nigel MacLennan qualified as a Chartered Psychologist and was awarded Fellowship of the British Psychological Society (BPS) for multiple original contributions to psychology, he is currently President Elect of the BPS.

Egle Raulickyte is a qualified physiotherapist and yoga teacher, and practices using holistic techniques, and runs therapeutic retreats.

Nigel and Egle interview each other on the key issues around pain and suffering, and because each is keen to understand the perceptions of the other, the interview sounds more like a joint exploration, (where each person draws on and builds on the other's unique experience).
