No Pain, No Gain

Text message from my 10-year old daughter.

The "no pain, no gain" adage might sound cliché, but there's a reason it persists. In the professional world, significant growth rarely blossoms from a comfort zone. To truly level up in your career, you'll inevitably face challenges that push you outside your limits.

Confronting Your Inner Demons

These challenges often take the form of inner demons. Maybe it's the fear of public speaking that prevents you from taking on that high-profile presentation. Perhaps it's the imposter syndrome whispering doubts about your capabilities. Whatever the obstacle, acknowledging and overcoming it is a crucial step in your professional evolution.

Transforming Discomfort into Growth

The good news? Discomfort isn't a dead end; it's a sign you're on the right track.

The reason you are carrying the weight, is because you were meant to.

Here's how to turn those challenging moments into stepping stones:

  • Reframe your perspective:?View discomfort as an?opportunity to learn and grow.
  • Embrace the small wins:?Celebrate each step forward, no matter how seemingly insignificant.
  • Seek out support:?Don't be afraid to leverage your network. Mentors and colleagues can offer valuable guidance and encouragement.

Remember, discomfort is temporary, but growth is permanent. By pushing yourself past your perceived limitations, you'll not only achieve your goals but also emerge a stronger, more resilient professional.

Survey

Currently, most coaches charge several thousand dollars per month for their services which can prevent many people from receiving the help they need.

In recent time, many professionals have started to offer subscription models with an up-front retainer fee and then a monthly subscription cost in an effort to lower the cost of entry and improve access for clients.

This survey is trying to figure out if there is a market for this kind of model for coaches.

I would greatly appreciate your input. In exchange, you will have the option to be notified if/when this service becomes available.

Sharing your email address is entirely optional and will NOT be used for any other purpose than to contact you about this program if/when it becomes available. No body likes spam and you are already subscribed to this newsletter here on LinkedIn. ??

Networking Redefined and More

This book will revolutionize your networking. Forget swapping business cards at meetings or connecting with someone on social media.

This new way of networking combines the classic "6 Degrees of Kevin Bacon" game with old-school friendship journals. Hand the book to someone awesome and let them hand the book to someone else and so on. There are spaces for 100 people to fill in their biography with some deep and meaningful questions that will spark creativity and thought.

All you have to do is buy the book and give it to one awesome person. Then let the book do all the rest of the work for you!

And for kids, I found these friendship journals are incredible. They go back to the classic old-school friendship journals I had when I was in elementary school.

Especially in today's age where we are surrounded by technology, these books go back to true human relationships and they make a great keepsake for the future. I still have mine from 3rd grade.

My kids somehow got the idea that Batman was my favorite superhero (he's second, my actual favorite is Frank Castle from The Punisher series but they're took young for that kind of violence).

So naturally, I had to create the dad-logo and put it up on Etsy.
