There is no doubt that padel has become a world-class sport. Beyond its growth at a professional level with a consolidated and expanding circuit Premier Padel, in terms of players who practice it, the number already reaches very considerable levels that place it as the revelation sport of the last 5 years.?
Below some data that FIP gives us in its World Padel Report:??
Beyond this amazing growth, we will have to wait to see him parade onto the olympic runway. Padel will not be present in Los Angeles. However, the possibilities to have it in the Australian Olympics in Brisbane 2032 are increasing. Even more, after having had the president of Premier Padel and PSG Football Club (Nasser Al-Khelaifi), lighted up and carried the olympic flame in Paris 2024.??
One of the most important requirements to become an Olympic sport is to have 75 affiliated federations. The padel already has 71. Almost there!!!
On the verge of being Olympic, padel stands as a leading sport that is no longer afraid to present itself as a younger brother of tennis, but as a giant that stands on the podium and looks down on them.
