Packaging a Better Tomorrow
We are proud to share Sabert's 2023 Sustainability Report: A Better Tomorrow. Our 5th annual sustainability report highlights the significant strides we've made this past year in our unwavering commitment to environmental responsibility, continuous improvement and developing innovative, sustainable food packaging solutions.
Our culture of sustainability and continuous improvement is reflected throughout all of our efforts, guiding every decision and investment. This year, we've implemented processes and infrastructure that have enhanced manufacturing efficiencies, optimized energy and water consumption and minimized waste throughout our operations. We are also making great progress towards our aggressive goal to grow our share of sales from sustainable products to 80% in 2025.
We know there is more to be done as we work toward building a circular and sustainable food packaging economy.

Closing the Loop with Nuvida
We are thrilled to announce that Sabert's Nuvida Plastics full-service recycling facility has been named a finalist for the prestigious 2024 Sustainable Packaging Coalition Innovator Awards. This honor is a testament to our dedication to reducing waste and promoting a circular economy to create a more sustainable future.
In 2023, we continued to recycle hard-to-recycle post-consumer waste like plastic bottle caps, and we implemented new technologies to recycle post-consumer plastic bottle labels. Since 2019, over 27,700 MT of PCR waste has been recycled at Nuvida.
The CAPetition is On!
And speaking of bottle caps...
For the second consecutive year, Sabert employees nationwide are demonstrating their commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship through friendly competition. Last year, we launched the Bottle CAPetition, a contest among all our locations to collect the highest quantity of bottle caps for recycling at our Nuvida plant.
Once the bottle caps arrive at our Nuvida plant, the caps are sorted, cleaned, and ground into feedstock for our food-grade PCR.
Last year's CAPetition was a tremendous success. Across all our plants, we collected over 550 pounds of bottle caps. Considering each bottle cap weighs roughly 2 grams, we collected an astounding 137,000 bottle caps.?
The 2024 CAPetition has already begun and will run until April 22 to celebrate Earth Day. Teams are working hard toward our goal of surpassing last year's remarkable achievement!?
