P Rajagopal , the Dosa King who could have been Rajendra Chola ended like a Ravana , despite touching the taste buds of people across 4 continents

The week had started with a dramatic hangover from the sports arena both from cricket & lawn tennis. Both the arenas saw a battle which would be hard to forget & have got registered in history. Federer for whom the world was cheering lost against Dejokovic . Whatever be the course of game whosoever might have played well but the good or bad it’s the winner who gets their name registered. It was the day of Ben Stokes & Dejokovic who kept fighting till last and that ended them being the heroes of their games. After all its the final end which the world remembers.

The week had much to offer not only for sporting hearts but even in the end had a lesson to give in the business arena. P Rajagopal the man, who could have been compared to Rajendra Chola, the king who expanded his empire from Tamil Nadu to rest of the world ended up having fate like Ravana.  Rajagopal the Dosa king was born in a small place to an onion seller and farmer in Tuticorin, in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. His story is inspiring right from start to end for all in the business arena. He took the risk in his teenage to shift to Chennai. Then ventured in the eatery business when eating out was not the trend & from buying a dying restaurant to converting it into Shravana Bhawan one of the biggest South Indian food restaurant joint across the world is a dream life which any one would like to live but not his tragic end.

He gave common Indian an option to celebrate out with their own taste of the tiffin of dosas and idlis in the budget.  The man who actually deserves to be remembered for his business acumen, foresightedness and much more. The czar of dosa empire of the world who ruled not only India but even the Middle East, South East Asia, Europe and much more, had a similar end like Ravana. I really don’t know should I tell Ravana a mythological character trusting Indian history I read, who had one of the richest and most prosperous kingdoms of that time or if I trust history outside India then the Sinhalese king actually existed.

The lust of Ravana for Sita not only ended him but his entire family and he is remembered in history as a devil. Despite all his knowledge & good deeds his assassination is celebrated as victory of truth. P Rajagopal who architected the rise of Dosa empire on his own from the rags took his last breath today trying to avert his arrest for life term in a murder case. The same fate as Ravana had.

Had he not done this act, he would have left an undisputed mark in the world coming to the league of Steve Jobs & Bill Gates. But the tragedy is, his tragic end. The man who defied his poverty did not only give learning to all of his success but his tragic end was almost like exit of Bill Clinton from being the most powerful & most admired person in globe to the other way round for his  engagement with Ms Monica Lewinsky, who dragged him out from white house to the unknown pages of USA.

His lust ended him. It takes ages and years to rise in life but minutes to fall.

Despite being in the murder case for more than one and half decades his brand Shravana , kept flourishing across the globe. He knew he was in controversy but he ensured to keep his brand way from media controversy,  which helped him grow his empire across globe.

Cutting the story short if you ask in a nut shell his life was full of inspirations for all. Chase your dreams and don’t give up. Restaurant business was his passion & he made the chain one of the most successful in the world. On contrast he could not keep a control on his lust for daughter of one of his employees and that led to his doom. The man who was well called as ‘ Annachi ‘ as he used to take care of his employees to best , unfortunately would be remembered in history for the one who was convicted for life but died in hospital.

Success is hard earned but one wrong step of yours ruins all. He joins a unique league of successful leaders who turns true to be a role model for all in terms of not only what to do but teaching hard way to others as what not to do in life as well.

It takes ages to rise but minutes to fall & the bad part about the world is, you might do 99% good and inspiring but you will be remembered for the 1% wrong you did. Reminding again of the Ravana one of the most learned person, the ruler of one of the most prosperous and rich empire but he is talked not for that but as the one, whose death is celebrated as victory of truth against evil.

In corporate there are many heroes, who  rose from rags with all their hard work and passion but one wrong moves of their ended their carrier & just because of one act of theirs rather than being worshiped for their good deeds they were sacked & ended up in dark and being remembered for that act across the industry.   I am sure when you are reading this many names  would be flashing in your mind, about whom you would be thinking and co relating .

What ever may be only one lesson prevails. Don’t let the power dominate your head. Don’t let one wrong step of you ruin your all hard-earned fame. Unfortunately, people across the globe have a bad habit of forgetting the goods you do but remembering and registering you in history for the wrongs you did.

Hold the power with a cool & composite mind, success is very hard earned but it’s much harder to even retain & sustain as the world is watching you. Choice is yours ,how you would like to be remembered after you have left the world , being celebrated and talked for your passion and success for touching the lives of all like Steve Jobs or being remembered as the one who ruined his own name despite touching the taste buds of Indians across 4 continents across the globe.

Very true brother. It is not the mistake of the people who remember your just one wrong deed, it is the law of nature. By virtue of being the most powerful species on the earth, we have to be always on the right path. Read the pages of Ramayana or Mahabharata, most of them were not the wrong people but some where at some point of time they were wrong, that is they were not true to themselves....and the result was nothing but a disaster. So, most important is to have a control on self...to have a better control on your senses and not focus on just materialistic pleasure rather to think ourself a part of nature and be soul conscious rather than being body conscious. Really a nice post.... Keep posting... God speed ??
