Oxford Optical Laboratories launch new UK test and measurement service ahead of 100% Optical

Oxford Optical Laboratories have launched a new independent test and measurement service for ophthalmic lenses, materials, and components.

The team of ophthalmic and optical experts are already supporting lens and spectacle manufacturers to improve performance, quality, efficiency, traceability, and customer service whilst saving them time and money through increased yields, reduced rework, and faster troubleshooting.

The laboratory houses a wide range of test equipment for lens power mapping, surface profile measurement, optical transmission/absorption, coating characterisation, and mechanical testing.

The test and measurement facility is led by Stephen Brazell, who has over 30 years’ experience within the ophthalmic lens manufacturing sector. Within the team, there is also expertise in precision scanning, metrology, product test, optical modelling (ray-trace analysis) and product design, enabling problems to be identified quickly and innovative solutions to be developed efficiently.
