OX Seven Newsletter #8 - The Recxpo edition

Pretty much everyone in the northern hemisphere has been going around saying 'why hasn't OX Seven done a LinkedIn newsletter in 8 months'. We've had calls, e-mails, postal letters and someone even sent us a mariachi band asking why.

The truth us we've been really busy with quite a few different projects which are coming to realisation at a very similar point.

First and foremost we've had quite a new briefs from our clients. Which has been lush. It means their clients are hiring and getting busier, which means you're all busier and making some money.

Secondly, we've been working hard on getting a new website completed as our old was was obsolete and full of people who worked here in 2018 - although we do yearn every day that Dom Blossom will stop being the best talent person in the world and come back to little old us to relinquish his title of Digi Dom.

We attended the rec expo on Wednesday 9th of October. In years gone by we've been slightly cynical, well, very cynical over the whole show as it's filled with scumbag recruiters and clients trying to shill AI. Well now all those people are potential clients we absolutely love. them and can't wait to take their money, sorry I mean build meaningful relationships with them.

We had a genuinely good time - the speakers covered some really interesting points and it was far more than a mutual mastabatory echo chamber - there was some respectful disagreements and differing point of views. Also, it felt like the suppliers had adopted a friend first, approach, rather than trying to sell to you until you buy or die.

In short, it was a really good time, and here is a great pic from our friend Callum Stuckey who supplied prize winning merch (my kids are absolutely buzzing off those teddies!).

We also were treated to some of the most incredible magic by Sam Wilson - it was genuinely mind blowing. Like the most incredible thing i've ever witnessed and I can't wait to see it again!
