Generally considered to be the best Rec2Rec agency in the western world.
Well, well, well, Donald Trump got back in.
I mean you would have probably noticed that as all i've seen is his face on my timeline. Now I don't want to politicise a shitty recruitment agencies LinkedIn newsletter, but I did want to offer some thoughts on how it will affect the plethora of agencies that have gone all in on recruiting in to the US.
Firstly, I don't think there is a definitive positive or negative outcome, I think those agencies will face both challenges and opportunities.
On one hand, Trump’s focus on reshoring jobs and prioritising domestic employment could lead to U.S. firms reducing their reliance on international recruiters, preferring to hire locally to align with “America First” policies.
This could result in fewer opportunities for UK agencies if U.S. companies aim to cut costs and reduce international hiring.
On the other hand, potential trade shifts and increased regulatory changes might create demand in specialised recruitment sectors like compliance, legal, and tech, areas where UK-based agencies with U.S. expertise could really capitalise on.
The fees on offer have made it a hugely tempting market to go after - so it does make me wonder if a lot of agencies who have really invested in consultant to cover that market (and the late start and finishes that go with it) will draw back and return to a UK focus.
But given the labour budget, who fucking knows.
Not me, that is for sure.

You will probably notice that we suffer from a chronic lack of diversity in our team. We're aware of it and something we're proactively trying to address. If you are looking for a new role as a recruitment consultant, can get to Brackley a couple of times a week and you're a decent person then give Will a shout!
